The Problem I Saw
After decades working across every level of the construction industry—from site management to running my own main contracting business—I witnessed the same problems repeatedly:
- Excessive markups: Multiple layers of contractors, each adding 15-25% margins
- Poor communication: Information lost between client, architect, contractor, and subcontractors
- Cost inflation: Projects routinely exceeding budgets by 20-40%
- Time delays: Poor coordination leading to extended timelines
- Quality compromises: Pressure to cut corners to maintain margins
I realised that the traditional construction model was fundamentally broken. Clients were paying for inefficiency, not value.
